Governing Aquatics in Telangana

The Telangana Swimming Association (TSA) is the apex body for aquatic sports in Telangana, affiliated to the Swimming Federation of India (SFI) and recognised by the Sports Authority of Telangana (SAT) and Telangana Olympic Association (TOA).

TSA regulates swimming, water polo, diving, and open-water swimming across all Affiliated Districts of Telangana, conducting state-level championships, and district meets to develop aquatic talent.

Life Guards Course

The Telangana Swimming Association is conducting a 3-day Life Guards Course at the Aquatic Complex, GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The course includes theoretical and practical training followed by assessments. Successful candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Merit by TSA.

Course Dates: 01 May 2026 – 03 May 2026  ·  9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Pre-Req Test: 01 May 2026 at 8:00 am (same venue) — attend before course begins
Venue: Aquatic Complex, GMC Balayogi Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad
Eligibility: Age 18 years and above, strong swimming background required
Registration Fee: ₹500 (non-refundable) — to appear for pre-requisite tests
Course Fee: ₹4,500 (only if you clear pre-req tests) — covers materials, CPR training, lunch & refreshments
Last Date to Register: 30 April 2026
Pre-Requisite Qualification Tests
  1. 100m Freestyle swimming within 2 minutes
  2. 300m Continuous Swim — 150m Freestyle (rhythmic breathing) + 150m Breaststroke (or combination)
  3. Underwater swimming for 20 metres
  4. Object retrieval from 3m (10 ft) depth — swim 15m, surface dive, retrieve, return 15m keeping object on chest, exit pool without ladder — within 1 min 20 sec
  5. Additional drills assessed by Course faculty
⚠ Stopping mid-swim or holding the lane rope leads to disqualification.
